About

Headshot, 2012
Most people call me JBB.
I'm Jennifer Bailey Bergen, People Person for GraySail LLC, with over a decade of experience helping people translate ideas into technology.

That can mean many things: Facilitator. Catalyst. Connector of dots. Geek to human (programmer to client) translator. Social Media Consultant. Client advocate. Customer relater. At GraySail, that makes me The People Person. Specialties include ringleading, organization, herding technical cats, and over a decade of experience helping people translate ideas into technology.

I've always been an early adopter of social media platforms - my first blog was handwritten in notepad and uploaded via FTP - and I've maintained an online presence since 1995. I combine real, hands-on, experience-based social media information with a voracious desire to learn things I don't know yet and share the things I do.

I have been interviewed by Palmetto Parent (Oct 2012) and Columbia Business Monthly (April 2012), published by Pregnancy magazine (Aug 2001) and GameSpy Industries, served as a recipe editor for dLife, and has been quoted on CNN.

Presently, I manage social media relationships for GraySail, Adluh Flour, Blue Cactus Cafe, NAMI Mid-Carolina, Hungry Howie's Irmo, Social Media Club Columbia, and (every Fall) Pumpkinspicewatch.

I frequently contribute my time to volunteer and advocate for causes I believe in: I write for TellThem's blog, I fundraise for NAMI Mid-Carolina, and often share my experience and knowledge through speaking engagements. Most recent engagements include, in February 2014, addressing NAMI Mid-Carolina board members and team captains on the topic of my successful team leadership for the upcoming April 5, 2014 NAMIWalk. In January 2014 I was a co-speaker with Anne Postic & Jordan Slice to educate teens about Online Entrepreneurship, for the Richland County Public Library.

It's in the spirit of sharing knowledge and experience that I have the pleasure of hosting Social Media Club Columbia (since February 2013) which meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 7pm in the GraySail offices.

I'm a mom raising two amazing teens, married to my best friend, a recent dog person, and a sometime-blogger. I cook, knit, drink good coffee, love local businesses, and recycle... even when nobody is looking.
